Dr. Jason Bjerketvedt grew up on a dairy farm, in rural Parkers Prairie, MN. At a young age he knew he wanted to work in healthcare, be a part of a smaller town and support a local community. With that, he sought out a chemistry degree from the University of Minnesota-Morris and continued on to dental school at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Following dental school, he began practicing at the Fergus Fall Community Dental Clinic (FFCDC). FFCDC is a state funded dental clinic; whose primary focus is to provide dental care for developmentally disabled, those with severe mental illness and low income patients. Patients who could not be seen in a clinic setting, due to their disability, were serviced in the hospital under general anesthesia. Additionally, Dr. Jason also gained experience in cosmetic and general dentistry as an associate in a private practice.
Dr. Jason is a 17 year member of the military, is a dentist for the Minnesota National Guard and holds the rank of Major. Being in the military has taken him to many places which bolstered his confidence and ability to perform under any condition. In 2010, he was deployed to Iraq. It is there that he treated soldiers under extreme situations. This deployment enhanced his performance as a dentist. He became proficient in surgical extractions on impacted teeth and executed multiple, successful root canals daily.
Dr. Jason is an avid outdoorsman and can often be found hunting and fishing. He enjoys helping out on his family's farm in Parkers Prairie, running marathons, bee keeping and spending time with his family. Dr. Jason lives with his wife Natalie and their children Harrison and Noelle.
Denise- Dental Assistant
Denise, too, grew up on a farm in Holdingford, MN with her 7 brothers and sisters. Following high school she received her Associates Degree from MSCTC Fergus Falls and then her degree in Dental Assisting at MSCTC Moorhead.
Denise and Dr. Jason worked together at Fergus Falls Community Dental Clinic. It is there that she focused on prevention of dental diseases and strived to provide the patient with the best possible care in a comfortable environment. All skills that have carried with her to Sauk Centre Family Dental.
In her time away from the office, Denise enjoys: farming, hunting, fishing and playing volleyball.
Sarah- Dental Assistant
Sarah grew up in Maple Lake, MN and following high school pursued a degree in Dental Assisting from Hennepin Technical college. Her career took her to a general dental office in Willmar, MN. It is there, she worked not only as a chair side dental assistant, but also a front office manager.
Sarah and her husband Tom have three children: Bennett, Hannah and Norah. Together they work, as a family, on their farm in Sauk Centre.
Sarah also enjoys running, traveling, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends.
Sam- Dental Hygienist
Sam grew up in Sauk Centre and following high school, she pursued her degree in Dental Hygiene at St. Cloud Technical College. She likes working in her home town and seeing familiar faces in the office. Sam enjoys helping patients feel good about their smiles and strives to provide exceptional care to everyone.
When not in the office, Sam loves spending time with her friends, family and significant other. She also likes to be outdoors with her cats Mr. P and Jaws.
Kathy - Dental Assistant/Reception
Kathy grew up on her family farm in Greenwald and worked at the family bait shop and gas station. She received her license and certification in dental assisting through St. Cloud Technical College. She is a warm, friendly face to many patients, as she has worked with Dr. Mayer and Wachlarowicz.
Kathy's people skills are top notch and excels at putting a apprehensive patient at ease and ensures that everyone leaves the office happy.
Kathy enjoys: golfing, reading and family trips with her husband and two children.
Danielle - Dental Hygienist
Danielle, too, grew up on a dairy farm in Holdingford. She took those hardworking values with her when she went to St. Cloud Technical College and sought a degree in dental hygiene. Following her education she moved to Elrosa and gained experience working with Dr. Wachlarowicz.
Danielle wants everyone to feel confident about their smiles. She ensures that confidence by educating patients and showing them how to keep homecare simple, easy and effective.
When away from the office, Danielle enjoys helping out at the family farm, being outdoors , gardening and playing volleyball. Danielle and her husband are expecting their first child in early fall.
Laura- Dental Hygienist
Upon graduating high school in Sauk Centre, Laura took general education classes at Mankato State University. Then she earned her bachelors degree in dental hygiene from the University of Minnesota. Since, she has gained ten years of experience working with Dr. Wachlarowicz.
Laura loves working in her hometown and seeing so many familiar faces. She is great at customizing each appointment with what works best for the individual patient. She makes each visit informative, comfortable and wants everyone to feel that they've received exceptional care.
Laura enjoys: gardening, walking and scrap-booking. She and her husband have 2 children Wesley and Otto, who love to chase around their two dogs.
Susan- Dental Assistant
Susan also grew up on a farm in Padua and now lives on a hobby farm in Osakis. She attended St. Cloud Technical College and earned a degree in dental assisting. She has worked in periodontics and general dentistry. She enjoyed her twenty-four years working alongside Dr. Wachlarowicz and looks forward to seeing all of those familiar faces at Sauk Centre Family Dental. Susan, definitely has the 'gift of gab', and does an outstanding job at making everyone feel at home.
Susan loves to bake, cook and camp. In fact, her bucket list includes visiting every state in the U. S.! She and her husband have one child and a whole bunch of beef cattle!
